Teaching & Training
As the Director of the M.A. Counseling Program and an Assistant Professor of Psychology at
Westfield State University, teaching and training are key elements of my professional identity. I work with students across the spectrum, including undergraduate psychology majors, graduate trainees, and post-graduate supervisees. In addition to instruction in didactic coursework, I supervise clinical skills development and mentor students in psychology research.

My teaching and training activities reflect my commitment to preparing the next generation of thoughtful, evidence-informed, and relationally attuned mental health professionals. I believe in fostering an environment where theory, research, and practice intersect to help students and trainees develop strong clinical judgment, cultural humility, and the skills needed to provide high-quality care. My approach emphasizes critical thinking, integration of diverse perspectives, and the application of psychotherapy research to real-world clinical contexts.
Student Research
I have had the privilege of supervising independent studies with both undergraduate and graduate students, providing opportunities for emerging scholars and clinicians to engage deeply with topics of personal and professional interest. These projects have included literature reviews, empirical research, and applied clinical explorations, often culminating in presentations and/or publications.
Below, you will find downloadable PDFs of select independent study projects completed in collaboration with my students. I share these with gratitude for their hard work and in the spirit of contributing to our collective understanding of psychotherapy and best practices in mental health.
As a licensed psychologist with Health Service Provider certification in Massachusetts, I provide clinical supervision and consultation to psychologists, counselors, and allied health professionals and trainees. I am an approved supervisor for licensure in Massachusetts and have experience supporting clinicians at varying stages of development, from graduate trainees to early career professionals.
My areas of expertise include the application of common factors theory in treating anxiety, depression, and interpersonal difficulties within both individual and group psychotherapy settings. I work collaboratively with supervisees to strengthen their clinical skills, conceptualization abilities, and confidence in delivering evidence-based, integrative care.
